Tamiflu is effective in moderating symptoms of any flu virus, including H1N1. . . . but you have to start taking it within 24 hours of the onset of symptoms for it to do any good. It will not cure the flu, it just makes it easier to live with until you are over it.
Yes, Im 32 weeks pregnant and on it now. I had come down with chills cough and mild low grade fever. I was given it even though my test said – for the flu. I was also told that the swab test has 40% failure rate. Since I was in the high risk category they put me on it bc it was when my symptoms first started. Its really made a difference too. My OB dr also said it fights off other virus’s as well and since I have either the flu or a virus that is in my respiratory tract they want to avoid pneumonia. So it not only is good for the treatment of the flu but other virus’s as well. If your in a risky category group.
