How long do swine flu symptoms last if untreated?

Since going to the doctor is expensive my friend doesnt want to go unless he feels he really really needs to. Yes i know he shoudl go anyway, but otherwise he is a completely healthy person, so how long will the symptoms last without medicine?

   if he really thinks he has swine flu, he should get a script for tamiflu
   he could have a severe case. . . . tamiflu works best if taken in first 72 hours of symptoms. . . . sometimes you can just call doctor for this script

   He should take some kind of medicine even over the counter ones work. Like Tylenol, Robitussin, benydrill and stuff like that. Leaving the symptoms untreated would not help. You should at least do something to treat it but he doesn’t necessarily have to see a doctor unless he feels really bad.
