Yes I think I will get it – I am worried about the potential side effects but my doctor has assured me that it is a safe vaccine – and having already had a version of the flu that lasted over three weeks this year
( not sure if it was swine or not – they had stopped testing for it) and I can’t afford to take anymore time out from work.

Yes, pregnant women have died from Swine Flu. If you look at the swine flu information websites pregnant women are among the first of those with priority in getting the vaccination. I will be getting the swine flu vaccination and so will my 1 year old son. My best friend’s husband recently had swine flu and she said that he was deathly sick. I know vaccinations aren’t always a good thing, but I’d rather chance the side effects of the vaccination than catching this bug. It really sounds like a bad one.

I would only if my doctor tells me it’s safe. My next appointment is in two more weeks so I will see what she has to say about it. I get up so early in the morning to take a swimming class (6am) and I come to work with my hair wet and people here LOVE the a.c. and I don’t want to get the flu at all.

I get the flu shot every year and I think I am doing the H1N1 shot this year cause my doctor highly recommended it to me cause i am pregnant with baby #3..so I am sure i will!

The H1N1 vaccine isn’t any more “new” than the regular seasonal flu vaccine, which is “new” every season because it’s been altered to match the current virulent strain of flu, which mutates every season. The H1N1 vaccine uses the same basic principles in it’s creation – just a regular flu vaccine manufactured to match the H1N1 strain.

You can even opt for the thimerisol-free version if that worries you.

H1N1 is on the rise dramatically, in the last two weeks alone cases have skyrocketed. In fact, the CDC reported this week that 99% of all flu cases have been H1N1, only 1% being the regular seasonal flu.

The risk of the vaccine is far less than the risk of this particularly virulent strain of flu. It is much more dangerous than the seaonal flu we have seen in years past.

There have been several cases of this in my area ….in MY town. ANd my Dr said that the Swine flu is actually LESS dangerous than the regular flu. Its also treated the same way so if you want the vaccine —-just get it …..its apparently not as deadly as the media has made it out to be

I asked the same question earlier lol.

I am 37 weeks 6 days I have had my seasonal flu. First time for me as well I got it yesterday! My kids are getting it this year first time for them as well.

No I won’t do the H1N1 as I am almost done with my pregnancy and I feel it needs more testing. My kids are not getting it either.

I was apprehensive about getting it because it’s so new as well, but with this new report of 1 out of 3 women who get swine flu dying, it seems like there is more to be gained out of getting it than to be feared.

Sorry I meant to say 1 out of 3 PREGNANT women

Doctors are reccommending that pregnant women and children under 18 get the shot for sure. I personally do not think flu shots arent that effective. There are so many different strands of flu, that the flu shot may fail. Being that you are pregnant, I would probably get the shot, just to be safe. Good luck to you!
